Where did they go?

Did you know that electricians are continuously leaving AE Rosen for the IBEW?  Many also have left for other destinations.  The IBEW is constantly in communication with electricians getting ready to leave.  Why do you think so many are looking to leave AE Rosen?

These are opinions some current and former AE Rosen electricians have shared with us:

  • Empty promises on raises, promotions, prevailing rate jobs, and training

  • Poor working conditions regarding safety

  • Poor quality workmanship with used or improper materials

  • Unfair treatment and threats

  • Long commutes and overnights without compensation

  • Unrealistic expectations without proper support from the management

  • They don't trust the management or like the direction AE Rosen is going in

  • They don't believe that AE Rosen's retirement plan will allow them (financially) to retire at a reasonable age

Many of these employees were highly regarded at AE Rosen.  Management made promises, offered raises and vehicles yet they still decided to leave.  When it became clear there was nothing AE Rosen could do to keep these key employees the attitude changed.  AE Rosen management now describes these employees in all kinds of unflattering and defamatory or slanderous terms.  The truth is those employees knew the promises would be short term at best and decided to improve their lives with a rewarding career rather than empty promises.

Right now the simple fact is, working for AE Rosen and not demanding better compensation and conditions is accepting you are worth less than other electricians in the area. IBEW Local 236 electricians pay rates are based on prevailing rate  currently $67.35/hr in the IBEW Local 236 Jurisdiction.  Inside Journeyman Wireman in IBEW Local 236 are paid prevailing rate for every hour they work.  Local 236 members vote on how to distribute that prevailing rate between gross pay, health benefits and retirement.  The IBEW Local 236 Apprenticeship and CW-CE Classifications are all part of programs designed to help you become an Inside Journeyman Wireman.

Average raises including classification upgrades and cost of living in Local 236 are over 10% per year!!

Lets make it simple, if you are being paid less than prevailing rate, and have no defined program to get you to that level.  Contact IBEW Local 236 and find out what you can do about it.
